MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL

PROF. CHIDI ANSELM ODINKALU (CHAIRMAN)

Chidi Anselm Odinkalu is the Chairman of the Governing Council (Board) of the Progressive Impact Organization for Community Development PRIMORG. He is a Professor of Practice in International Human Rights Law at the Fletcher School. Currently, he chairs the Truth, Justice, and Peace Commission, a transitional justice initiative established to address the crises of violence and agitation in the states of southeast Nigeria. He previously chaired Nigeria's National Human Rights Commission. He served on the panel of eminent persons that negotiated the return of The Gambia to the Commonwealth in 2017. Odinkalu acted as counsel in international human rights litigation before Africa's regional human rights courts and tribunals and created the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights. He is associated with several advocacy initiatives for the protection of human rights, including the International Refugee Rights Initiative. Odinkalu is a former Chairman of Nigeria's Governing Council of the National Human Rights Commission. He is the former legal officer for Africa and the Middle East at the International Centre for the Legal Protection of Human Rights in London. Odinkalu is also a former Human Rights Advisor to the United Nations Observer Mission in Sierra Leone. He is a Brandeis International Fellow at the Center for Ethics, Justice, and Public Life of the Brandeis University Waltham, Massachusetts. He is associated with several non-governmental and academic institutions around the world. He received his Ph.D. in law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

BOARD MEMBER– AGBONSUREMI AUGUSTINE OKHIRIA (The Executive Director)

Agbonsuremi Augustine Okhiria is the Founder of the Progressive Impact Organization for Community Development (PRIMORG). He is an accomplished journalist, media manager and broadcast producer. He is a respected and influential public affairs commentator and political analyst. He is a Radio and TV presenter and an experienced Media expert. Agbonsuremi's over 30 years of journalism practice cut across print and broadcast media. He wrote judicial and political reports for several years on The Guardian Newspaper. He was the Director of Politics/Parliamentary at DAAR Communications PLC, Nigeria's largest private broadcast group. Agbonsuremi holds a Master's Degree in International and Strategic Studies from Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma and a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communications from Federal Polytechnic, Oko. He is a founding Director of the Constitutional Rights Project (CRP) and the Media Rights Agenda (MRA). He is a Nigerian Union of Journalists member and Executive Director of PRIMORG.

ADAOBI OBIABUNMUO Ph.D.

Dr. Adaobi Ngozi Obiabunmuo is a founding member of the Progressive Impact Organization for Community Development (PRIMORG). She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Nassarawa State University and a Master's Degree in Sociology from the Same University. Obiabunmuo offers a regular strong voice on the radio as a producer and presenter of anti-corruption and political development programs on several radio stations in Nigeria. She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals. She has had some experience in the banking sector, where she developed skills in sales and management. Obiabunmuo worked as an intern at the Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA). She was the officer in charge of Administration and Logistics at the inception of PRIMORG but has now risen to the position of Program Manager.

BOARD MEMBER – EZE ANABA

Eze Anaba, the President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, is Nigeria's foremost development journalist and Editor. He holds a Master's in Communication from Leicester University, UK and an HND in Mass Communications. Anaba is the current Editor of one of Nigeria's major newspapers, Vanguard. He was the Deputy Editor until his elevation. He was the Saturday Editor, Senior Deputy News Editor and the Law and Human Rights Editor at various times. He is a founding Director of the Constitutional Rights Project (CRP) and Media Rights Agenda (MRA). Anaba is also a Board of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) member.

BOARD MEMBER – AYO OGUNDELE (ESQ)

Ayo Ogundele is a full-time legal practitioner of over 30 years post-call and a Notary Public. He is the principal Counsel and Partner in AYO OGUNDELE AND CO law firm, a firm of Barristers, Solicitors and legal Consultants with offices in Lagos and Abuja. Ogundele worked at DAAR Communications PLC's legal department, where he became the Company Secretary. He is reform-minded and has been involved in advocacy in media discussions, town hall meetings and Community mobilization and enlightenment programmes.
