The edited 30 minutes program was syndicated to 95.9 Maloney FM Keffi, Nasarawa State on Thursdays from 8:00 to 8:30 am, PRIMORG has produced over 200 live episodes of the radio program and over 550 syndicated episodes to four radio stations in the North Central geo-political zone.

Media independence and development
PRIMORG AND IPI PARTNERS TO STRENGTHEN MEDIA SKILLS
In 2023, PRIMORG was funded by the Foundation in collaboration with the International Press Institute Nigeria to convene a two-day capacity building in three states in Nigeria for journalists on media law, ethics, and fact-checking/verification. The first two-day media convergence and capacity building for a senior journalist was held at Olivia Hall, Bolton White Hotel, Abuja, from September 6th – 7th, 2023.  The second was held at Amber Residence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja-Lagos, from October 11th – 12th 2023.
The third two-day media convergence held at Bristol Palace Hotel, Kano State, from 14th -15th February 2024. The International Press Institute, Nigeria, organized the capacity building in partnership with the Progressive Impact Organization for Community Development. The theme of the media convergence was How to Avoid Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP) Suits and Remain Ethical.
The two-day event in each state covered a wide range of topics. It was structured to provide a suitable platform for robust conversations, networking, learning, and sharing valuable insights concerning media law, ethics, current trends, and best practices in journalism. It also equipped journalists with practical strategies to mitigate the risk of facing SLAPP suits and legal challenges. The three events had over 100 participants.
CONFERENCE FACILITATORS
CONFERENCE FACILITATORS
In 2022, PRIMORG was funded by the MacArthur Foundation to facilitate the attendance of a conference in London, UK. Seven MacArthur grantees under the Media and Journalism Cohort were sponsored to attend the two-day Trust Conference from October 26th – 27th, 2022. The conference was organized by the Thomson Reuters Foundation at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London. The theme of the meeting was Strengthening Free, Fair and Informed Societies.
The two-day conference was focused on tackling societal issues on media freedom, socio-economic inclusion, climate change and digital rights during different panel discussions. In attendance were delegates from various countries, Chief Executive Officers from other organizations, the media, students and representatives of different organizations.
Conversations during the conference re-emphasized the importance of the media and media freedom as the backbone of upholding democracy, and they should never be the target.
Participants at the conference were reminded that to adapt, survive and thrive. The newsroom must be able to invest in technology and be able to innovate.
The two-day conference provided an opportunity for collaboration among participants during the networking session.
Health
PRIMORG, in 2024, rolled out the SAFE WITHOUT DRUG INITIATIVE (SWiD) to address the issues of illicit drug consumption in the country. According to the 2018 report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), one in seven persons aged 15 and 64 had used drugs in the past year, and one in five persons who had used drugs in the past year is suffering from a drug-related disorder.
Adolescents are fragile when it comes to the abuse of drugs. This is premised on the observation by the National Institute of Medicine that there are characteristics of developmental changes that individuals undergo at that age during their transition from childhood to adulthood. It further emphasized that the brain undergoes a rewiring process that is not complete until approximately 25 years of age. Today, like all over the world, the UNODC says, many Nigerian adolescents no longer see the harmful effects of cannabis despite its biting consequences.
The goal of the project is to reduce the consumption and abuse of drugs amongst students in the Federal Capital Territory and to discourage secondary school students from venturing into the use of illicit drugs.
The intervention is implemented through capacity building and sensitization of secondary school students, parents and teachers from schools, and media engagement in partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, FCT Secondary Education Board, and selected Public and Private secondary schools in the FCT.

PRIMORG ADVOCATES AGAINST GBV

The United Nations in 1991 launched an annual campaign titled “16 days of Activism”. This event runs from the 25th of November to the 10th of December to have a world free of Gender Based Violence (GBV).
Joining the campaign, PRIMORG rolled out an initiative, 16 Days of Activism – Speak Up Against Gender-Based Violence, which included hosting two radio programs and an advocacy visit to a secondary school.
Two 30-minute live interactive radio programs were held on the 29th of November. On the 1st of December 2022 on 99.9 KISS FM Abuja from 5:00 to 5:30 pm, had as guests the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who represented the Officer in charge of the Gender Desk of the FCT Police Command and Dr. Hope Cole, a Sociology lecturer at Bingham University. These guests helped drive the radio discussion on the issues surrounding GBV in the nation. The representative of the Police, SP Josephine Adeh, pointed out the fear of stigmatization and poor knowledge on how to report GBV as enablers of GBV in the nation and emphasized the need to break the silence. Dr. Cole, on the other hand, highlighted some of the sociological factors responsible for the culprits of GBV and what families and society need to do to curb the menace. The radio programs were streamed on PRIMORG’s official page.
Also, on 2nd December, PRIMORG took the campaign to senior students of Excellent Kiddies Academy, Bwari—the program aimed to sensitize the students on the need to speak up against gender-based violence.
A speaker was invited to address the students on the need to speak and the effect of silence on victims.
The keynote speaker, Oluwatoyinoyin Falaiye, a lawyer, human rights activist and survivor of GBV, shared the story of how she survived the abuse for years before speaking up. She described silence as an enabler of GBV and encouraged the students to speak up if anybody abuses them. The program included pre and post-surveys and a participatory question-and-answer session where all the questions asked by the students and teachers were answered. PRIMORG’s mobile number was shared with the students for them to report any GBV they may experience or witness.
Overall, the engagement was insightful for the students, teachers and the PRIMORG team. It ended with the school administrators seeking our revisitation for any other project that could benefit the school.
